Gays, Bad Theology & Unrepentent Hearts

In his post http: "When  Churches Make People Need Therapy or Why Anti-Gay Christianity is an Abomination"  James F. McGrath comments on Shane Dawson's video about his struggles with being gay:

"By the end of the video, we learn that he (i.e. Shane) still believes in God. I was moved by his discovery of the reality that a God who made him this way will not condemn him for being the way he is.  As a progressive Christian, I have to say that the conservative forms of Christianity that make people feel this way about themselves – and about the love they feel for others – are something terrible...Indeed, let me suggest that there is one word that seems particularly apt…Anti-gay Christianity is an abomination."

Let's analyze Shane's statement:  "that a God who made him this way will not condemn him for being the way he is."

First thing that strikes me is that according to Shane it's God's fault that he is gay because God made Him that way. However, according to the Bible, God didn't make him that way but Adam did by sinning. His sin is like a hereditary gene that is in each of us.

Jesus is Walking Beside Me, The Holy Spirit is Living in Me

Christian churches today often emphasize Christian service and ministries. These are very valuable and noble Christian activities. However, there's another important part of our Christian life  and we are often too busy to do it.

Is Christian America Humpty Dumpty?

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again

I've been trying to grasp the reality of   what's happening to Christian America now that the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage.  In this process, I started listing in my mind all of the changes in our culture in the last fifty years such as legalized abortion, legalized marijuana, unquestioned acceptance of global warming, the breakdown of the traditional family structure and cultural hostility toward Christianity. I tried to figure out what the devil happened to the United States. During my musings the nursery rhyme went through my head (my thoughts aren't always well-focused).  Then as musings often develop, I started equating Humpty Dumpty to the United States.

About My Book: Pilgrim's Progress in Today's World and Today's Language

When I wrote Pilgrim’s Progress in Today’s World and Today’s Language, my initial purpose was to answer the question: How would John Bunyan have written Pilgrims Progress if he had lived today instead of the 1600s?

My Christian Dilemma: The Lotto Ticket

One of my great weaknesses in my Christian life used to be buying lotto tickets. I figured it wasn't a sin because all I was doing was asking God: Can I have $17 million today? He would answer me either yes or no (Makes sense to me!.)

God Didn't Give His Best Friend a "To Do List"

Enoch was very special to God and God commended him publicly.  In fact, Enoch was so special that God spared him the suffering of dying a physical death.
